Dear Graduates

On behalf of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), congratulations on your induction into the education profession. Today marks a milestone in your journey to becoming an outstanding educator from one of the top Historically Black College University (HBCU) in the nation, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.

With a theme of "Professional Educators: Inspire, Empower, and Emancipate," it is important that you always remember the hard work and perseverance it took for you to research this point. You must also remain committed to ensuring that those under your instruction, guidance, and leadership are equipped with the necessary skills to achieve their dreams and aspirations in life. With this in mind, your presence here today at the Apple Pinning Ceremony is a testament that you are equipped with the required training to meet this challenge. As a result of your experiences at the "College of Love and Charity," I am convinced that each of you will step out into the professional ranks and make a lasting impression upon, and difference in the lives of American's most precious resource — our children. You will inspire, empower and emancipate countless others in the next chapters of your professional and personal lives.
